This is the story of how my bank, the Charles Schwab Bank came close to killing me, reducing me to begging, and losing all chance of peaceful years ahead.
I have bank Everyone’s pension is at risk when we are always afraid of technology in the hands of criminals. Our banks must protect us without harming us too. If/so when they go overboard with aggressive methods. it is their customers who harmed. And we as customers, have to speak up and ask who are the criminals when we lose access to our money.
My experience could be your experience. And that is why reading this could be very, very important for millions of people. Your bank does not need to be SCHWAB BANK but all banks, especially large banks will surely have a lot in common with SCHWAB BANK.
The SCHWAB BANK did a big dirty to me and I may never live down the stress and loss of confidence regarding my future .Trust me, there is much to learn here!
Second, how they respond to their fear of cybercrime can result in shocking harm to the banks oldest and longtime customers of many banks.
So, what do you need to know about cybercrime crime before for we go on?
First, it was not a long ago that there were some big stories on internet that told us huge amounts (maybe all) Social Security personal data had been stolen And, it was released for sale on the “dark net”. So, a lot of personal information of every type can be available for tricky people to pretend that they are you and, possibly pull that off
Second, there have been news stories about organized
Criminals who have actual provided housing, office space and equipment for teams to conduct cybercrime. Settlements of that type were on local news in Thailand when they were shut down by Thai military. This has been evidence of highly organized cybercrime. This did not seem to have receive wide attention.
Third, a senior office manger at a SCHWAB BANK branch admitted to me that he has had several interactions with cybercriminals and other kinds of fraudsters and tricksters. Ok! It is real – but how much?
There is a very good website I hope to quote later which said this: No one really knows how big this cybercrime problem really is. And a priority must be to learn about this new kind of crime.
And the same article said that, in the case of banks and all financial institutions, society must protect their customers. Right, like me! But I can only say that this our is at best a dream for the future! And this is also why anyone with a pension should read this now.
——————————————————
THIS is how IT ALL started for me.
I have lived in Surin Thailand with my Thai wife for about ten years now, but on June 22nd I was I was in Bangkok to go to my hospital. I was low on cash so I stopped at a MRT machine. I took the cash and walked away without putting my DEBIT CARD back in my wallet. And this was the start of two months of craziness with demands after demands from SCHWAB BANK.
Reported I quickly realized that I didn’t have the card, so I rushed back to see if it was in the machine.
On the second day I called SCWAB BANK, reported the debit dart was lost (making clear it was NOT stolen. In a few minutes Dannel did a good job filling out my address so my new debit card would be on its way the very next day. Plus, I was told (by email) it would come to me in Thailand via United POSTAL Service (UPS) by “overnight” service but added this will might take a few days when it is international.
OK, but still great service from SCHWAB and UPS – so far!
PART ONE: Let’s set the stage. You have a credit card, which you have for a long time, and you can see an expiration date on the card. Maybe not realize most credit card companies send your new card out several months in advance. OK, but when the new card arrives you find a sticker on the back of your new card which tells you that you most call a phone number to “activate you card”
And I have always found this to be easy to do. The phone number on the sticker is obviously dedicated to activating new cards. Everything happens quickly and the last step is when you are told you card is activated and you can go out immediately and use you clean new credit card. All done.
That is not how it works if you get a new card from the SCHWAB BANK NO, NO, NO not even close. Maybe other banks are the same these days but ANY need for a new debit card could easily open the door to Hell, as it did for me.
So, to show how SCHWAB is different I Will ask you to play
THE SCHWAB PHONE Call GAME
Remember, my name is John Kane, and I will put up $500 To the winner of my game based on the length of the winners reported call to this SCHWAB telephone number provided to me “activate” my card.
SCHWAB CARD GAME report at the end here in a place for comments
Here are the rules, 1) Reach a person. pretend you lost a SCHWAB deb card but you got a new one and you and you want to activate it.
use this telephone number 1-888-335-8570
use a clock/or watch which can time your call. Report in the comment section below with in this information / how long did it take for you to hear a person’s voice / and where did that person say where he/she is located (a US city name), Were you put on hold, and for how long? Did you learn anything about the US stock exchange while on hold?
I consider it is important for you to play this game as a way for many people to understanding how the first step in having any contact with the SCHWAB BANK requires a struggle to get past a sophisticated, smart (AI?) answering machine which has its own script to follow. It will put you on hold. So, wait.
Later we can play the game with another SCHAWB telephone number where I can increase prize money. I am thinking maybe $5,000 if many people report in the comments
